Expiry date of the Citizen Card and other documents extended until December 2021
Decree-law No. 22-A/2021 entered into force on 18 March and establishes exceptional and temporary measures under the Covid-19 pandemic, from a perspective of social and economic support to families and companies.
Among the measures, the Government decided to extend until December 31 2021, the admissibility of documents, such as the citizen card, medical certificates for incapacity that expire this year, certificates, documents and visas related to the stay in national territory, as well as licenses and authorizations whose validity has expired 15 days ago.
These documents continue to be accepted, in the same terms, after 31 December 2021, provided that the holder proves that has already scheduled the renewal.
Provisional certificates of registration, which expire from 25 January this year, are automatically revalidated for 60 days.
In the same way, the validity of the exceptional and temporary scheme regarding insurance contracts is extended.
Holiday map can be posted until May 15
“Also within the scope of companies, given the difficulties experienced by employers in meeting the deadline of 15 Abril for approval and posting of the holiday map, this deadline is extended to 15 May 2021, regardless of the type of employment contract in question”, according to the decree-law.
In order to reduce the burden on companies and other legal persons, the annual confirmation of the information in the Central Register of the Actual Beneficiary will be waived in 2021, regardless the date of the initial declaration and provided that no change in the information has occured.
It is also foreseen that the general meetings of commercial companies, cooperatives and associations, which are required by law or the articles of association, may be held until 30 June 2021 or, in the case of cooperatives and associations with more than 100 co-workers or associates, up to 30 September.
