Registration open for the Portuguese exam required for citizenship
The registration procedure for the official Portuguese language examination (level A2) is currently open, which is required for some processes of obtaining Portuguese nationality and obtaining a permanent residence permit. The registration period for this exam will take place between 18th October and 5th November 2019. The exam will take place between the 2nd and 6th December 2019, in Lisbon, at the IAVE premises. If the registration of the candidates justifies it, it can also be done in the Azores or Madeira, in a place to be designated.
The exam aims to prove the knowledge of the Portuguese language and can be performed through two types of test: Written Test or Oral Test.-
The Written Test integrates three components: listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression and is performed exclusively on computer (electronic assessment) with a duration of 75 minutes.
The Oral Exam consists of an interview and is held before a jury composed of two Portuguese teachers, one being the candidate’s interlocutor and the other the evaluator. The interview has a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
Enrollment for the official exam is done on the IAVE, I. P. website, using a dedicated form (See here), requiring the applicant’s identification documents (passport and residence permit).
In the application form, you will also be asked for applicant identification details, email address, telephone number and tax identification number (TIN).
The enrollment for the official exam is subject to a fee of sixty-five euros. (65,00 €).
