{"id":43176,"date":"2022-07-21T16:50:53","date_gmt":"2022-07-21T16:50:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lamarescapela.pt\/remote-workers-amendment-to-the-foreigners-law\/"},"modified":"2022-07-21T16:50:53","modified_gmt":"2022-07-21T16:50:53","slug":"remote-workers-amendment-to-the-foreigners-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lamarescapela.pt\/en\/remote-workers-amendment-to-the-foreigners-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Remote Workers &#8211; Amendment to the Foreigners Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The proposal for Law n\u00ba 19\/XV was voted in favor today, which makes the 10th amendment to Law n\u00ba 23\/2007 of 4 July (Foreigners Law) which provides, among other things, for the creation of a new type of visa: the <strong>visa for remote workers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a remote worker visa?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This type of visa entitles its holder to reside in Portugal with the purpose of working here, even remotely, for an individual or company with domicile or headquarters outside the national territory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can get this type of visa?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Citizens of Third States who demonstrate an employment relationship or provision of services that allow them to work in a subordinate or independent manner \u2013 as the case may be \u2013 for a company, or individual domiciled or headquartered outside the national territory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of the advantages that the remote worker visa holder can have are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Family reunification;<\/li>\n<li>Obtain Non-Habitual Resident Status;<\/li>\n<li>Benefit from a qualified and accessible health system; and<\/li>\n<li>Access to law and courts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the present approval of the referred draft law, the subsequent legislative procedure will be followed up, which, from the outset, will culminate, in the near future, in the publication of the referred legislative amendment in the Di\u00e1rio da Rep\u00fablica and subsequent entry into force of the referred amendment.
